Great post. I too had a mother that wouldn’t let me wear horizontal stripes because they made me look fatter( which at the time, I was not fat at all), and also commenting on other’s dress. When I realized it was her insecurities and had nothing to do with me, a healing began and continues. Thank you for being you! And letting us feel it is ok to be us!
Thank you Shannon! I feel sad about this dynamic and how pervasive it is. How wonderful that your realization started the healing process. I’m thrilled for my little part in shining light on how ok it is to be ourselves. 😍
Hi Pamela, thank YOU for your heartfelt, inspiring words. I loved them all. You’re an awesome, special woman. I feel truly blessed to have met and have you in my life. 🙏❤️
Reading your comment was literally heartwarming, Chele. Thanks so much. I’m honored to have you in the club! I suspect we’ve know each other for much longer than 20 years and it’s nice to get to know you better now. What I really want to know, though, is how do cats lay on you when you’re upside down?! 🙃
Delightful post! Thank you for making feel I'm not alone in who I am. :0)
Thank you, Kim! You’re not alone and have helped me feel the same way. 😍
I love this post, and for the record, you are one of David's and my very favorite people in the world. <3
Aw, thanks Laura. You’re both in my favorites too. 💖

Hi Lisa! You’ve welcome! And thank YOU! I also feel blessed to have the awesomeness that is you in my life!!
Reading & receiving this with appreciation & celebration of You and gratitude for the offerings of affirmation of me/us & invitation to me/us 🩵
Thanks Meg!! 🩵
Well, Pamela… Everyone has said it already, but I shall repeat with great enthusiasm:
Wonderful post!
If I knew you better, I would repeat what Laura said, "… one of my very favorite people in the world."
And even though we met 20 years ago, I am only now really getting to know you.
Thank you for your openness, authenticity, and beautiful self exposure.
I'm writing this to you today lying upside down on my slant board, two cats laying on my body, in my pajamas, morning breath, and all.
And yesterday, I wrote about various levels and perceptions of arrogance – – looking at my own personal desire to contribute.
I'm not special either. Thanks for starting the club.

Slant board is only 13 degrees...we aren't all hanging on with claws :-):-):-)
Aaah. Thanks for clarifying!!
