A quick reminder that if you’re not interested in receiving emails about Reiki Tribe posts, you can uncheck the box in your notification settings. To me, energy healing and living a soul-based life are deeply intertwined, but I get that not everyone sees it that way. I’m still working out how to offer folks the content they want and remain true to myself. Let’s just say… I’m a work in progress.
Often when people are just starting to practice Reiki, they wonder if the results they experience and observe can be attributed to their efforts or if it was “just a coincidence”.
Truth is, we’ll never really know for sure.
But I don’t believe in coincidence; rather I sense a divine order that isn’t always discernible from our earthly perspective.
If you did a session for your friend’s sore knees and they felt better the next day, it seems likely that Reiki deserves some credit.
When working on less tangible goals, such as a relationship or situation, the consequences could vary widely and might be difficult to pinpoint. In general, any movement related to your intention is probably connected to the treatment.
If you worked on healing a rift in a friendship and get an email out of the blue from the other person, it’s fair to assume that the healing energy had a role to play. Obviously, the friend would have had to be willing to engage, but maybe a blockage was removed, and a door was unlocked paving the way.
If you asked for prosperity and received a check in the mail, give Reiki some thanks.
If you did a treatment for peace and quiet in your home and subsequently enjoyed consistent serenity for weeks, do a little happy dance and send some gratitude to this amazing force of nature.
Learning to believe that intention + Reiki = outcome is part of the healing journey. It might be difficult to accept at first, especially if you come from a hard science background where everything needs to be verified by quantifiable metrics. Trusting in that which is beyond measurement can be a leap of faith, but I suggest you give it a try.
Because… Reiki.
The more you practice, the more you’ll notice these so-called coincidences are really NOT random. That the universe is indeed responding to the application of Reiki. That’s what you signed up for, right? Embrace it!
Over time, your experiences will add up and become undeniable. You’ll begin to develop a new definition of “proof” that comes from an inner knowing.
If this seems like an impossibility for you, you could direct some of your efforts towards a willingness to believe. You could set an intention along the lines of, “Reiki, help me open to believing in the efficacy your power.”
As with all intentions, it’s important to choose the words that resonate with your own frequency, so go ahead and adapt the lingo as necessary. Then place a hand on your heart and a hand on your belly (connecting with powerful centers of intuitive knowing in your body) and let the energy flow while opening yourself up to healing and releasing any preconditioned concepts and limiting beliefs.
Paid subscribers will find a guided Reiki practice for those who have been attuned. You can follow along as I lead a step-by-step session for cultivating trust in this healing power.
I often doubted myself and my work in the early days. But I kept on practicing and eventually could no longer deny the results I witnessed time and time again.
It’s interesting to note that I didn’t always get what I wanted, but Reiki always responded and offered what was truly needed, even if I couldn’t recognize it at the time. Hindsight has shown that I’ve always gotten what I needed, which has often been vastly different from what I wanted. As it turns out, I’m not always aware of what is in my best interest.
Reiki has an innate intelligence and is spiritually guided, so it has a higher, deeper, broader perspective than the ego-mind. Thank goodness!
Keep going and you’ll begin to observe this yourself. It can help to keep a log of results so you can track what’s shifting over time. Having a hard copy to refer to can help overcome the doubts that arise.
One final thing- I suggest only sharing your Reiki stories with believers until you have firm footing. No need to let the skeptics have their say when you’re just beginning.
I’d love to hear your not-so-coincidental coincidences! Tell me, my friends, what magic have you witnessed lately?
And if you’re interested in learning Reiki, the starting point is a Reiki 1 class. I have one coming up in July. You can find more info here.
