This is a Pep Talk
Because I know you can face whatever is happening today in your life. Of course you can.
This is a pep talk, but it isn’t sugar coated. You can handle the Big Stuff, but it might not be easy. You might need to face some unpleasantness or invest in upgraded tools. You can absolutely do it if you let your soul lead.
The theme I’m seeing in my work and my corner of the world is a perpetually-thwarted desire for peace. We want peace and look around at the chaos, catalog it all, store it in our bodies, and wonder why we don’t feel peaceful.
This stress remains alive in you until you digest it. I don’t mean you need to make the stressful situations stop. (Although, any step in this direction will earn compound interest.) I’m talking about taking action to metabolize the stress that you carry rather than continuing to carry the ever-accumulating burden.
Not so you can post about it on social media or score extra virtue points, but for your wellness, which is the necessary foundation for longevity, sustainability, and resilience.
I believe we all have an assignment, a soul assignment, and it includes our particular circumstances in this life. Many people look at these circumstances as the excuse not to do their soul assignment, but I am here to say that it’s all wrapped up in the job description.
That the IBS, PMS, LBP, ADHD, CFS, the wayward child, the aging parents, the sucky job, the credit card debt, the state of the economy- whatever your particular combo is, that’s a factor of your assignment.
Your soul would not have chosen a mission for you if you didn’t have the means to succeed. Remember, you have assistance. Not the assistance that we’ve been lead to trust. I’m not talking about the FDA, NSA, or any of the alphabet soup agencies. Nor am I talking about health insurance or a 401k plan. If we source our sense of peace and safety from external sources, we set ourselves up to be disappointed.
No, I’m talking about divine assistance- guidance from something bigger than our thoughts and personalities, grander than any government, something that sees the big picture and wants us to be free to be ourselves and do our work.
There are a many keys to uncovering this freedom, such as disassembling our limiting and inherited beliefs about who we are and what our roles are, recognizing that the news is produced to make us feel afraid and glued to the screen, and that Instagram is just a staged photo shoot to sell us stuff we don’t need.
Cultivating capacity to clearly see what situations we are able to influence, to inventory our strengths and weaknesses, and to recognize that some things are truly beyond our control is a game changer.
But you can’t do those things when you’re barely treading water. You can’t hear the still small voice when there’s a tornado of fury in your head.
It’s not your fault that things are falling apart. If you’re like most everyone I know, you want to help put things back together in a more meaningful way. Rather than just doing stuff for the sake of being busy, why not get in touch with your inner wisdom and open to the guidance about the aligned action, the effective action, the action that you were meant to take?
Again, I know it isn’t easy. You don’t need to tell me that. Nothing about being true to myself and my mission was designed for ease. It was designed for growth and impact. Yay?
Just like all major journeys, it begins with one small step. Followed by another. And then another. And another.
Perhaps that’s sitting quietly with your morning beverage, being present with your inner world, and listening to the wisdom within. Maybe it’s something vastly different. I can’t tell you where you first step is, but I know it’s 100% accessible to you today.
You can handle this upside-down, topsy-turvy dumpster-fire of a world. But you might need to shift your approach. Instead of spinning your wheels, running on fumes and righteous indignation, let your soul lead, and you will be guided.

Beautifully said. Thank you. 🕊💖
