Reiki for Situations
Nothing is too small, too big, too simple, too complicated, too weird, too normal for Reiki.
Reiki has all sorts of fascinating applications beyond healing. After all, it’s life-force energy and as such can help remove blockages and reestablish a healthy flow in daily activities, lifestyles, relationships and circumstances. As far as I can tell, every Reiki goal can be approached by setting a clear intention, activating Reiki and applying it.
Intention. Activation. Application.
Activating is easy if you’ve had an attunement. I bring my hands to prayer position and think “Reiki on”. Boom! It’s flowing.
The other two steps might seem tricky, but really, they aren’t.
For an intention, I recommend focusing on the outcome you desire. It’s easy to notice the things we don’t want, but bringing attention to what is unwanted is way less effective than directing energy towards what we do want.
I might be aggravated that my neighbor is playing loud music, but rather than intending that this not happen, I’m better off working on “peace and quiet”.
Another trick that is really helpful is to leave the “how” out of the picture. Keep your eye on the prize, not the means to get there. Let Reiki handle the how, as it has a higher perspective and is guided by Life, the same force that causes flowers to bloom and planets to stay in orbit.
It’s not my business to define how I want the peace and quiet to come into being! Heck, it might be noisy as hell when I’m elsewhere, and that would suit me fine if it’s quiet when I’m trying to meditate.
If you’re wanting to experience prosperity, aim for that, and don’t specify that you want a raise or to win the lotto. Go ahead and tack on a “for the highest good of all” or “this or something better” clause if you like, but leave the details up to Reiki. This keeps all possible avenues open rather and allows magic to happen in ways you haven’t even thought of yet.
So that leaves the application step. It’s simply a matter of holding your attention on the intention while the Reiki is flowing. Easier said than done!
Some people are naturally gifted at visualizing a goal. Most of us have to practice. It’s a matter of holding it in your mind, noticing when your attention drifts and gently guiding it back. Again and again and again.
It can be helpful to use a visual representation of your goal to help focus your mind and keep the Reiki flowing in the desired direction. Peace and quiet could be a photo of my favorite spot in the woods or an image of a baby sleeping. There’s no right or wrong way to do this- just choose something that has symbolic meaning to you.
If you’re a visual artist, you could draw, paint, or sculpt something. If you’re a poet, you could write a sonnet. Songwriter? Knitter? Dancer? Get creative and have some fun! Design and build something that conjures up the way you expect to feel when your intention is met.
If that sounds like way too much effort, you could write the words (“peace and quiet”) on a notecard, hold it between your hands or place it in front of you, and offer healing energy to the written words.
Intention. Activation. Application.
It really is that simple and yet there is spaciousness to make it your own.
Give it a try!
If you want help with crafting your intention, I have a knack for that. You’re welcome to reach out through the comments and we can work together to get the right words. As always, I love to hear how it goes. Sharing experiences helps to inspire others.
