Be the Change
Oof. There’s a lot of desperation energy swirling around in the American airwaves! Lots of rudeness, polarity, and downright hostility too. It’s staggering to see the deterioration of dignity, mutual respect, and kindness in the name of what is “right”.
I get it. People feel very strongly about their candidate. Great. It’s healthy to have something to believe in. What’s not so healthy is vitriol spewed towards the “others”.
If we want to experience peace, harmony, generosity, and connection within our borders, it’s time to start cultivating that within ourselves.
To show understanding, or at the very least tolerance, towards people who think differently than we do.
To quit with the mental daggers, the nasty comments, the glaring, and self-righteous attitudes that only harm ourselves from the inside and erode the fabric of an already deteriorating society.
If you want to take it a step farther, step into the spiritual plane where there is no “us vs. them”. There is only us! And every hateful thought, word, glance, and action hurts us all. All that cortisol is damaging your health.
We’re all in the same soup. Regardless of what happens on Election Day, we will continue to be in the same soup. Your attitude and behavior is contributing to the quality of the soup every moment.
Take the action you are being guided to take. Get involved if you feel lead to so. But know that your efforts will be much more productive if they come from a loving place rather than a vindictive one.
And if you’re part of the team that keeps calling me, I’ve already mailed in my ballot. You can stop now.
